Fears, we all have them. Yet unlike other emotions that are actually good and healthy for us to embrace, fear is never part of God’s plan for our lives. And therefore God always has a plan for how we can conquer them. So what’s keeping you up at night?
The One Thing We Should Fear
Even though the Bible continuously challenges us to not live in fear, Jesus once made a point to tell his followers there was one thing they should actually fear in life. Interestingly enough, taking Jesus up on his suggestion could just be the key to conquering every other fear we’ll be tempted to give into.
It makes sense that we get scared when it comes to those things we can’t control, but what about those things we can control? The reality is oftentimes fear over making decisions that are in our control can be just as strong, if not stronger, than when we don’t have any say in the matter. So what’s God take on how we make decisions and the fear having to make those decisions can cause?
There’s often nothing that can instill fear in us quite like those things that are completely out of our control. But rather than the specific situation we’re facing, could it be that what we’re really scared of is the fact that we’re not the ones in control?
What If Fear Wasn't a Factor
So what’s keeping you up at night? From the election and everything else happening in our world, to the stuff we’re dealing with in our very own lives, there’s a lot we could be fearful of these days. But should we be afraid? Is living in fear inevitable? How would our lives be different if fear wasn’t a factor?
